Rome, Italy and Waltham, MA – March 16, 2009 – NoMachine, award-winning
provider of remote desktop and application delivery software, and
Leostream™ Corporation, a leading developer of virtual hosted desktop
software, today announced a partnership that will fully support and
integrate NoMachine's NX protocol into the Leostream Connection
Broker. This combined solution allows enterprises to easily deploy
and manage Linux virtual desktops within their IT environments. Leostream users can now leverage the power and speed of NX technology, connecting quickly and securely through the NX Client to a Linux VDI hosted on the NX Server, while using the Connection Broker to manage the connections of end users to their desktops, applications and sessions. Users are provided the most efficient way to access hosted environments on centrally managed servers. Outstanding compression, session resilience and resource management make NX the ideal solution for shared, dedicated and virtual services. The Leostream Connection Broker is a virtual appliance that integrates heterogeneous data center systems into VDI and then assigns and manages end-user resources. IT administrators can use the Connection Broker Web Interface in conjunction with NoMachine's NX technology and application server management tools to manage computing resources and control what users can access, giving end users the right resources at the right time, regardless of their location. With NX technology, users experience the benefit of real-time connections to the virtual Linux environment, while the Leostream Connection Broker provides the centralized connection management layer needed to deliver computing resources to end users. Via Leostream, NoMachine NX Linux-based VDI integrates physical and virtual desktops, blades, applications and terminal server sessions. The Leostream Connection Broker integrates other systems required by the VDI, for example, multiple authentication servers (Active Directory, eDirectory, OpenLDAP, external SSL VPNs and multi-factor authentication). The Connection Broker provides advanced policies, including location-based policies and global user redirection, enabling enterprises to implement business rules precisely, while offering an excellent end-user experience. Together, NX technology and the Leostream Connection Broker create a comprehensive VDI solution for Linux users, simplifying integration and management to create a unified hosted desktop environment, in even the most complex IT architectures. “NoMachine NX is a great new addition to our portfolio of supported protocols and clients, creating a perfect solution for users working in Linux environments,” said Kate deBethune, marketing director for Leostream. “As the industry's most widely deployed vendor-independent connection broker, Leostream supports a wide range of protocols and collaborates with software providers to deliver the flexible solutions users need to make VDI work.” NoMachine's business development manager, Sarah Dryell, said, “NoMachine is pleased to be partnering with Leostream to expand Connection Broker access to include virtualized Linux desktops and applications. By adding support for NX, Leostream becomes the first connection broker solution to include NoMachine's 'just like being there' experience for real-time access to Linux resources from anywhere on the network.” About NoMachine NoMachine (http://www.nomachine.com/) is the creator of award-winning NX software, an enterprise-class solution for secure remote access, application delivery, and hosted desktop deployment.
