Rome, Italy, Oct. 14, 2008 – NoMachine,
creator of NX software for application delivery, remote access and
hosted desktop deployment, was among many sponsors of the sixth
annual Ohio LinuxFest on Saturday Oct. 11, 2008 at the Greater
Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio LinuxFest is one
of the largest regional Linux Shows in the United States and drew in
over 1,000 Linux and other OSS followers this year.
The Ohio LinuxFest started in 2003 as a
inter-LUG meeting and has grown into a large, free, grassroots
conference where Free and Open Source Software professionals and
Linux enthusiasts gather as a community and share information. This
year's show hosted speakers like Jon “maddog” Hall, Joe
Brockmeier, Jono Bacon, and Esther “Moose” Filderman. Other
attractions included a large expo featuring sponsor exhibits and a
.org pavilion of non-profit, Open Source, and free software projects.
Attendees
gathered at the NoMachine booth to
discuss the trends, benefits and challenges in
delivering X applications from centrally managed terminal servers.
Jeff Kalberg of NoMachine USA says, “It was a classic community show
where technologists could share technology war stories and exchange
ideas on ways to make for a better life in the technology fast lane. It
was also a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the power of NX.”
Kalberg continues, “the conference gave us the opportunity to meet
people from organizations that have never had the chance to experience
the power of NX. Most of them voiced their opinions about the
shortcomings of the other solutions currently available on the market
and how the adoption of cost-effective high-performance application
access had now become fundamental for many companies, both small and
large, around the world. Being able to talk face-to-face with our
engineers and see NX in action convinced them NoMachine's NX was the
solution they were looking for."
