The application menu may be unusable when the desktop is Unity 2D from Ubuntu 11.10

When Unity 2D is running inside the NX session, it may be difficult to access items in the menu of applications. Menus flicker and clicking on any of the items doesn't perform any action.

The only way to access an item in the menu is to keep the left button of the mouse pressed when clicking to open it.
