NoMachine announces the immediate availability of an important update to the NoMachine for Mobile App. Version 8 of the popular remote desktop software is now available for download for iOS and Android from their respective app stores, both with updated support for the latest SDKs and with important changes to underlying components.

This major update aligns the App for Mobile with NoMachine 8 Free Edition and Enterprise products. With this important milestone reached, the app can be kept actively aligned with NoMachine server products as development continues to move forward. Updating to this latest release allows mobile device users to make use of the latest features available, such as guest desktop sharing which enables seamless remote collaboration in attended desktop scenarios. Additionally, users of tablets and iPads, who use the NoMachine app for administering their remote desktop infrastructure, can now launch remote admin connections using the Player’s ‘Server admin’ tool and use the app to seamlessly manage their NoMachine Enterprise server set-ups.

Moreover, this release brings the NoMachine App up-to-date with the lastest SDKs for both iOS and Android, and ultimately fixes a number of issues which have affected users of devices running more recent versions of the two mobile operating systems, in particular users of Apple devices running iOS 16. NoMachine App users that upgrade to version 8 will foremost notice that overall usability and user experience are improved, making their remote desktop experience much more enjoyable, including users of Chromebooks and Dex devices.

Furthermore, a redesigned implementation of NoMachine’s mouse support for iOS, thus taking advantage of the new APIs provided by the most recent iPad versions, adds full in-session support for mouse devices connected to the iPad.

Key enhancements in this major update for iOS and Android are:

Support for iOS 16 and improved system integration
Better integration with iOS devices, based on the latest SDK. As a result the NoMachine App now supports iOS 16.

General improvements on Android devices
Overall usability and experience on Android devices is improved, eliminating issues of not correctly using the available screen area and freezes on Chromebook.

Guest Desktop Sharing Users
Connect as a guest from the app to the remote physical desktop without the need for a system account. The connection must be approved by the desktop owner.

Remote Admin via the Server Admin tool
Remotely access and administer the settings of any of the NoMachine Enterprise server products. The Server Admin tool permits complete and convenient remote configuration management via the NoMachine App.
